Four people get arrested after attack on Iranian Embassy in Netherlands
The arrest comes amid ongoing widespread anti-government protests in Iran, sparked by severe economic decline and a historic collapse of the national currency. Iranian officials have accused the US and Israel of supporting the unrest, which they describe as “riots” and “terrorism.”
While official figures are unavailable, US-based rights group HRANA estimates that more than 2,000 people—including both security forces and protesters—have died, over 1,000 have been injured, and at least 10,721 have been detained across 585 locations nationwide, spanning 187 cities in all 31 provinces.
In recent days, Iranian diplomatic missions in several countries have been targeted in connection with the protests. Activists reportedly removed Iranian flags from embassies in London and Madrid and displayed protest materials at the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada.
