Tanker Struck by Unknown Projectiles Near UAE Waters

(MENAFN) A commercial tanker was hit by unidentified projectiles in waters north of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, according to reports citing the UK Maritime Trade Operations.

As stated by reports, the incident occurred approximately 78 nautical miles north of Fujairah, with the vessel reporting that it had been struck while in transit.

Authorities confirmed that all crew members aboard the tanker were safe following the incident, and no environmental damage has been recorded so far.

According to general accounts, the origin and nature of the projectiles remain unclear, and no party has yet claimed responsibility or provided further details about the attack.

UKMTO said it received the report through its monitoring systems and continues to advise vessels operating in the area to remain vigilant due to ongoing maritime risks in regional waters.
